Hi, I'm Laura.
I work as a writer and creative project manager on the development communications team at Emory University. I write proposals, giving letters, and content for other development materials and then coordinate with designers, printers, and development officers to see those projects through.
For three years, I worked as a writer and editor for The Salvation Army, writing articles, social media posts, and blogs, interviewing donors, beneficiaries, and volunteers to tell the story of the impact the organization has on individuals and communities. When I was first hired, my department didn't have a website or social media presence (!!!) so, I fixed that too.
You can see some of my work by clicking on the link to my portfolio in the top right corner or by visiting the individual sites where my work has appeared, like Caring, New Frontier Chronicle or Southern Spirit.
I received my B.A. in Journalism & French from Georgia State University. Go Panthers!
I studied multimedia journalism in an intensive Dow Jones Digital Journalism workshop at Western Kentucky University.
After graduating, I worked at Patch.com as an editorial intern, writing for 12 metro Atlanta community sites.
